The abstract should emphasize the significance of the results and/or major technical merits of the final paper. Abstracts should be approximately 300 - 400 words in length and must include full names, addresses, telephone and/or fax numbers, and email contact information of the author/s. In the case of multiple authors, please indicate one primary contact.
The official language of IPC 2012 is English. All presentations must be in English. All presenters must be fluent in English.
When considering whether to submit an abstract, be advised that if the abstract is accepted (upon review), authors will be invited to submit a formal Draft Paper in a full-length Technical Presentation format. Short papers (as defined by ASME Guidelines) will not be accepted for IPC 2012.
Abstracts will be judged on their content pertaining to new knowledge or experience/test results and their technical merit and interest relative to the conference. Authors shall avoid commercial references within their abstracts and papers.

Final paper acceptance will be at the discretion of the Technical Committee.
Abstracts may be submitted online to the Conference WebTool. The link to the Conference WebTool is now open for submissions at https://www.asmeconferences.org/IPC2012/Author/NewAbstract.cfm. The deadline for submission of abstracts is November 30, 2011.
All abstract submissions received on or before November 30, 2011 will be entered into our draw to win one of two Apple iPads (provided their abstracts are accepted and the authors subsequently attend to present their papers at IPC 2012), generously donated by sponsor Petro-Line Upgrading Services Ltd. The draw will be held on a future date and winners will be notified by email, announced on the Web site, and presented at IPC 2012.

Publication of final paper/s is subject to author/s commitment to attend and present their paper/s at the conference and will be at the discretion of the Technical Committee.
The Technical Committee reserves the right to require a pre-paid deposit prior to approving authors’ papers for IPC 2012.
*At the time of submitting a full-length draft paper (February 13, 2012), authors are advised to initiate the VISA application process, if required, for travel to Canada to present an accepted final paper. We have experienced issues in the past where VISAs were not received in time, and papers needed to be omitted or withdrawn as a result.

Poster sessions provide an opportunity for authors to present their paper in a different format than traditional oral presentations and will be held throughout the conference based on interest and space availability.
